WPG National Small Works 2013
- Exhibition open to printmakers age 18+ residing in the continental United States creating traditional, hand-pulled prints under 170 square inches. First prize: Solo exhibition, August 2014. Other prizes awarded. Early bird deadline: April 17, 2013 ($20/4 images). Final deadline: May 18, 2013 ($30/4 images). This year's juror is Philippa Hughes, founder of the Pinkline Project and DC Commissioner for the Arts and Humanities.

DETAILS
The National Small Works is an annual juried exhbition that has been hosted by Washington Printmakers Gallery every August since 1997. Featuring contemporary artist-pulled prints, NSW exhibits an impressive array of technique as well as subject matter by limiting the size of print entries (maximum size of 170 square inches).

ARTspace Original International Print Exchange & Exhibit, Chatham, Ontario, Canada
April 17 - May 25, 2013

ARTspace is eager to announce a Call for Entry into the second bi-annual International Print Exchange and Community Arts Initiative, which will run from August 21 – September 28, 2013. An open call has been put out to artists, print studios and forums across the globe asking printmakers to create a print with a paper size no larger than 5 inches x 5 inches (12.7cm x 12.7cm) and an image size no larger than 4 inches by 4 inches (10.7cm x 10.7cm) in an edition of ten. Each artist will have one of their prints on display and for sale at the standard price of $75.00 + HST while the rest of the prints will be distributed among other participants, ensuring each artist will receive a suite of different prints.

These prints will be on display on ARTspace with an opening reception that will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7pm. During the opening reception, a curator’s choice award of $150 and one people’s choice award of $100 will be selected. Please note: the deadline for entry is August 1, 2013.

For Chatham-Kent artists who wish to participate, ARTspace will conduct a series of print workshops and open studios at the Thames Art Gallery. Please contact ARTspace for details and dates of the workshops.

Call for Submission: Bainbridge Open Print Show

This is the second open submission show of contemporary printmaking organised by Bainbridge Studios.

This year it will be held at the new Embassy Tea Gallery, in Union St, London, UK, SE1.

To apply, download the application, fill in the form and submit a maximum of three JPEGs and 20£ by midnight (GMT) on April 10, 2013. Accepted work must be delivered by May 3 or 4.

Each artist should send no more than 3 works: original prints, created in 2012/2013.
Entries may feature any type of method of printmaking and should be signed and numbered by the artist. The maximum dimensions of a work are 29 x 23 cm. (paper size). Participation fee is 50 EUR for all Europeans and 80 USD for all another countries.

The Hazelhurst Art Award is open to original works on, or made principally
with, paper - 2D or 3D is permissible. Acceptable disciplines in the category of Art on Paper include drawing, painting, watercolours, collage, original prints, computer generated, photography, paper sculpture and installation. Work to have been completed in 2012 or 2013.

$15,000 AUD prize plus several smaller prizes

Entries to be submitted by 17:00 on 6 May 2013.
Successful entrants notified on 31 May 2013. Work has to be delivered to the gallery by 14 June.

Print People Print Exchange

It's a worldwide exchange. $15.00 participation fee. 1 June 2013 deadline.

Money covers the cost of the exchange and future Print People activities.

Requirement is an edition of twelve signed & numbered 6” x 8” prints.

500 Printmakers, 12 Prints

We’re calling out to 500 printmakers to become a part of a massive exchange of printed matter that will reach across the globe!

"The Drive Home..." is the theme of this swap - artists will interpret the theme by making an edition of 12 prints to submit to the exchange. In return, they’ll be mailed a bundle of 10 prints to call their own from artists near and far. This project is only open to 500 printmakers across the globe, so get your place while you can and look forward to getting 10 amazing prints in the mail.

Prints will also be entered into an exhibition in NYC at Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop for the month of September and a print added to the Brooklyn Art Library permanent collection.
